Stop And Look Around Once In A While
In our stress-filled and fast-paced lives, we often don't think about stopping and looking around occasionally. We rarely admire the things we have and the things around us.
When I was walking back from an English lesson today, I realized that I often focus a lot on my studies, which is a good thing, but that I rarely stop what I am doing and think about my surroundings, the things I'm grateful for, or even my plans for the next few weeks.
This is a reoccurring problem for many people, not only in my generation but also in other generations. When we get too obsessed and piled up with work or schoolwork, we tend to mostly focus on that and never have time to focus on anything else.
While I think schoolwork and work in general are important and decide your future, you shouldn't make it your entire life, and people usually don't. But even if work or school isn't your entire life, people tend to only focus on the responsibilities or activities they need to do for that exact day.
Sometimes an unplanned meditation or an unplanned reminiscence of an old event can be refreshing and at times even motivating. We are only human after all, we need time to "get our shit together" and think about what and how.
So, just stop whatever you're doing and look around you. Be grateful for everything you have. Appreciate nature, the people around you, and all the love you give and receive, because however sad it may sound, you never know when you can lose it. And even if you never lose it, it's good to be proud of yourself.
And it's good to be present. In a world full of stress, a mindfulness session may just be what you need.
