People Are Precious
This is not something I really want to talk about since it is so personal, but I really want to prove how precious you and everyone around you are.
Let's start this off on a not-so-good note.
Three years ago, my dad died of a heart attack. Soon, a year will pass since my mom died of colon cancer. One thing I have realized since then is that people around us are truly precious.
When my dad got sick, I didn't at all realize that it could lead to his death because the disease wasn't even directly connected to the heart. As was the case for my mom, when she got diagnosed. I never took stage III cancer as something meaningful, because I always thought that my mom could never leave me and that everything can be cured and fixed. But the harshest thing in life is that some things just have to be the way they are.
I never realized how important it was to cherish the memories I made with the people closest to me. I never thought they would ever be gone. But now I've learned that life is about cherishing EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT, because you never know when it will inevitably end.
Outside of your closest circle, the world in general is full of evil people, ones that just work for their own good and monetary value. Tons of people just want to use you for something you possess and manipulate you to give them what you don't want to give them. They may seem friendly and may even be family members. But you mostly realize how they are hurting you when it's too late. And those kinds of people, usually, when something bad happens (as was the case when my mom got sick), tend to save their asses and run the fuck away.
People come and go in life, wherever you are, whoever you are. That's exactly why you should cherish the moments with the closest ones because you never know when they could go. If I could go back and fix one thing in life, it would be spending more time with family.
You have to decide the people that are closest to you, and it's sometimes hard to leave someone out, it may even sound selfish, but you should pick the people who support and love you the most - because those are the ones that will stay forever. Help you with your wildest dreams, comfort you in times of grief, and be there for you whenever. And remember: the world is a harsh place, and the ones that cut through that harshness with you are the real ones.
But even the people who hurt you should be deserving of your forgiveness because even if you hate the person, it's better for your sanity and good. We are, after all, all on the same planet at the same time. Why should we fight when we can be happy that we are together, here, at this exact moment?
