Instant Photography: Polaroid Go

Note: If you were looking for a full review, this isn't one. It's just a personal opinion and a half-baked review.

Instant photography was never a hobby I thought I would get into, but here we are!

A few weeks ago, I pulled the trigger and bought a Polaroid Go Gen 2 instant camera. I've always been obsessed with memory
safekeeping and writing and recording everything, so when I saw the Polaroid Go on a discount I decided to pull the trigger.

My trusty Go Gen 2 🎞️

While somebody would say that you don't need an instant camera because you've got a phone and a ton of other gadgets, I would disagree. A phone can always die on you, fall from your pocket and break, or do thousands of other things.

What I also love about the pictures I take on the Polaroid is that they are unique.

They sometimes may not turn out how I wanted them to, or they turn out amazing. I love that. Even if I don't like a picture I took at that moment, I can always look at it in a few years and it will flood me with happy memories because everything in this world is Perfectly Imperfect (side note: blog post on that soon).

I also love bringing the Polaroid to every night's out, even if it isn't something we planned. It even turns out better when I don't bring it on purpose and when I take pictures at the moment. Someone from my friend group definitely finds this annoying, but we'll all realize that the more memories we record and safe-keep, the more we will remember and cherish them.

At some point, I'm even planning on getting a picture frame to fit all the Polaroids in. And I want to take as much of them as I can so that it all looks gorgeous when I put it together.

Take this blog post as an inspiration for getting into photography, be it instant or digital or whatever. Take photos with your friends, with your family, and with everyone around you - believe me, all the posing and camera shenanigans will be worth it in the end. You'll have a physical representation of a memory or event you love.

Of course, if it's something important, you'll remember it without having to take a photo, but it's always nice to have a keepsake 📷

Until next time! 🖋️
